Shäna Pate Dudley, Ph.D. Manager V, Training & Organization Development
Dr. Shäna Pate Dudley has over 30 years of experience in education, employee development, and training. With a Doctorate degree in Curriculum & Instruction, a Master’s degree in Education, and a Bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish, Shana has taught elementary and middle school, and she was a tenured professor at Texas State University in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction. As part of the Training and Organizational Development Team at Alamo Colleges in San Antonio, Dr. Dudley created, established, and instructed in a Faculty Development Program for over 1700 part-time professors. Joining the Texas Parks and Wildlife family in June of 2016 as part of the Training and Organization team was a dream come true. As a nearly-native Texan, Shana is proud to work alongside the best, brightest, and most talented workforce to execute the mission of TPWD, and she supports agency initiatives by providing professional development opportunities in leadership, mentoring, feedback and coaching, diversity, inclusion, cultural awareness, conflict management, public-facing service, listening with empathy, trust-building, and more. Dr. Dudley has been touted as an energetic, empathic educator who is wildly passionate about the success of those she teaches. She lives in NW Austin (Jollyville, actually) with her husband and their dog, Major, in their almost empty nest. Their two young-adult kids live (or practically live) nearby with their partners, making family gatherings a joy. In her free-time, she enjoys spending time at the beach, riding horses in the hill country, honing her skills at the shooting range, kayaking gentle waters, birding, and practicing being retired (ask her what that means).
